Belarus is among the countries with a minimal level of environmental pollution

Economic growth without negative environmental impact is one of the priorities of the state policy of Belarus.

Such a high result has been achieved through the implementation of environmentally friendly technologies and energy-efficient equipment, which allows for reducing the amount of waste, processing and using it as renewable energy sources, as well as reducing anthropogenic load. Over the past 20 years, Belarus has reduced the volume of insufficiently treated wastewater discharge by almost seven times and the volume of fresh water consumption by almost a quarter. Also, the area of specially protected natural territories has increased by more than 30 thousand hectares. Today, it accounts for almost a tenth of the country.
