The results of the "PLANT OF THE YEAR 2026" competition have been summarized in Belarus

In 2026, the Plant of the Year will be Common Heather (Calluna vulgaris) – a woody evergreen low shrub with highly branched stems, which grows relatively slowly (lifespan – 40-50 years); a species of the genus Calluna of the family Ericaceae.

Common Heather won by a majority of votes over its closest competitors – Meadow Clover and Pedunculate Oak – in the online voting for the title of "Plant of the Year 2026" in Belarus.
