There has been an increase in cases of wild animals entering populated areas

In connection with the increased number of reports of wild animal sightings, the Rossonsky District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection reminds you:

• if a wild animal has entered a settlement or a private yard, under no circumstances should you approach it, try to capture it, touch it with your hands, or pet it;
• the fact of a wild animal being in a settlement or yard must be immediately reported to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (phones 101, 112);
• in cases where contact with the animal could not be avoided (after a bite, scratch, or saliva contact), it is necessary to perform initial treatment of the contact site (thoroughly wash it with running water and soap, then treat the wound with hydrogen peroxide, and the edges with an antiseptic), apply a sterile dressing, and immediately seek medical attention.

A wild animal can pose a threat to humans not only due to a possible attack but also as a source of rabies infection.
