Information for fishermen

From November 1 to March 31, 2026, fishing for wels catfish is prohibited.

If a wels catfish is caught, it must be immediately released back into the water, alive and unharmed.

For catching wels catfish during the closed season, a fine of 10 to 30 base units is imposed. Furthermore, for each wels catfish caught during the spawning period, a threefold compensation for environmental damage will be required: 12 base units or 504 rubles.
