Amendments have been made to the Rules for the Maintenance and Improvement of Burial Sites

This follows from the Resolution of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services dated October 1, 2025, No. 22.

The Resolution introduces amendments and additions to the Rules for the Maintenance and Improvement of Burial Sites, approved by the Resolution of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services dated June 10, 2016, No. 17, regarding the clarification of the scope of persons to whom these rules apply, as well as regarding the regulatory framework for the handling of plant life growing in burial sites.

These Rules apply to specialized organizations, other legal entities regardless of subordination and forms of ownership, individual entrepreneurs engaged in or participating in the provision of services related to the organization of funerals, as well as to individuals engaged in independent professional activities related to the performance of work and (or) the provision of services for the maintenance and improvement of burial sites.

Clarifications have also been made regarding plant life subject to removal. To make decisions on their removal, settlement and rural executive committees, a specialized organization, and special regional authorities conduct an inspection of these objects. The types and timing of tree and shrub pruning are determined.
