By 2040, it is planned to increase the waste recycling rate in Belarus to 90%

The implementation of such an ambitious task will be carried out in three stages: the level of glass, plastic, and paper recycling will be increased every five years.

In the first stage, through separate collection and the introduction of new technologies, it is planned to achieve a waste reuse rate of up to 70% by 2030.

To achieve the set goals, additional waste processing capacities will be built, and the number of containers for separate collection of household waste will be increased.

For solid municipal waste, the recycling rate is 51%, and for production waste – 88%.

In addition to increasing capacities for waste collection and processing, an important criterion for achieving the set goal is working with the population: fostering a culture of separate waste collection, preventing illegal landfills, and much more.
