The fifth edition of the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus was presented at the V.I. Lenin Vitebsk Regional Library
Another 55 species of flora and fauna were added, and 38 species were excluded. In total, the list of protected species includes more than 500 species of plants and animals.
The Red Book of Belarus has legal status. It is published in two volumes. One is dedicated to the plant world, the other to the animal world.
The book collections of state institutions: "Vitebsk Regional Library named after V.I. Lenin", "Vitebsk District Centralized Library System", "Centralized Library System of Vitebsk" were replenished with the 5th edition of the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus. 10 copies of the updated edition were handed over to the libraries of the Vitebsk region.
In a solemn ceremony, the Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Alexey Markovsky, handed over the two-volume edition (plants and animals) to the library directors.
