How to correctly register wild animals bred in captivity?

In accordance with Article 43 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus dated July 10, 2007 No. 257-Z "On Wildlife":

wild animals kept and (or) bred in captivity (including their offspring that have reached the age of three months) are subject to registration:

• belonging to species listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus, or being CITES specimens;
• whose capture for the purpose of keeping and (or) breeding in captivity is carried out on the basis of a permit for the removal of wild animals from their habitat.

Wild animals kept at facilities for keeping and (or) breeding wild animals, at production facilities where sturgeon species of fish and (or) products from them, including caviar, are produced, are not subject to registration.

Owners of wild animals are obliged to apply to the state body responsible for the registration of such animals for registration within one month from the date of capture or acquisition of these animals.

Owners of offspring of wild animals are obliged to apply to the state body responsible for the registration of such animals for registration within five days from the date when such offspring reach the age of three months.

The grounds for registering wild animals are documents provided for by legislation on administrative procedures, submitted by their owners to the state body responsible for the registration of such animals, as well as an act on the compliance of the conditions for keeping wild animals with the requirements for their keeping established by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, and an act confirming the fact of birth of offspring of wild animals in captivity (in case of registration of wild animals bred in captivity), drawn up by the territorial body of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection with the participation of representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus or another scientific organization employing zoologist specialists.

The registration of wild animals belonging to species listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus, or being CITES specimens, is carried out by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

The registration of wild animals, whose capture for the purpose of keeping and (or) breeding in captivity is carried out on the basis of a permit for the removal of wild animals from their habitat, is carried out by the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

The fact of registration of wild animals subject to registration is confirmed by a certificate of registration of wild animals kept and (or) bred in captivity.

Registration of wild animals is carried out free of charge in the manner and under the conditions established by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, unless otherwise established by the President of the Republic of Belarus.

The keeping and (or) breeding in captivity of unregistered wild animals subject to registration is prohibited.
