NUMBER OF THE DAY. More than 21,000 veterans of combat operations in other countries live in Belarus

The country highly values the courage, patriotism, and bravery of these individuals. In accordance with the legislation, they are provided with social support measures in various spheres.

A monthly pension increase of 250% of the minimum old-age pension has been established.

As of February 1, 310 Belarusian rubles monthly.

Periods of participation in combat operations are included in the length of service at a multiple rate – one month for three months.

A new provision from last year – in accordance with the law that came into force on May 1, 2025, veterans of combat operations who have acquired disability status in peacetime are granted the right to a reduction in the generally established retirement age by five years.

Preliminary results of implementation: over 500 veterans have already taken advantage of this right.

In addition to military personnel, representatives from other fields – education, healthcare, construction – were sent to Afghanistan.

A pension supplement has been established for them – 760 people received it in the amount of 124 Belarusian rubles monthly.

Veterans of combat operations among military personnel are granted the right to:

free provision of medicines, technical means of social rehabilitation, as well as the manufacturing and repair of dental prostheses

free sanatorium-resort treatment and health improvement

priority service in healthcare organizations and priority hospitalization.

Spouses of deceased military personnel who have not remarried

are additionally granted the right to free provision of medicines, sanatorium-resort treatment, and health improvement.
