The results of the national census of the white stork, which was conducted in Belarus in 2024-2025 as part of the VIII International Census of the species, have been summarized.
Ornithologists have established that the population of storks in Belarus has increased by 12% over the past ten years, reaching 25.5–26.0 thousand nesting pairs.
According to preliminary results of an international census, Belarus is home to about 8% of the global population of the species, meaning our country remains one of the key territories for the white stork.
