The Vitebsk region has 324 specially protected natural areas (hereinafter referred to as SPNA):

"Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve",

2 national parks – "Braslav Lakes" and "Narochansky" (partially),

25 reserves of republican significance,

86 natural monuments of republican significance,

67 reserves and 143 natural monuments of local significance.

The total area of protected natural areas is 414.5 thousand hectares, or 10.35 percent of the total area of the Vitebsk region.
