Don't litter on the ice!

The number of ice fishing enthusiasts in our country is growing every year. Ice makes all the secret spots and depths of water bodies accessible.

However, when venturing onto the frozen surface, not every angler remembers that a body of water is also someone's home, and littering on the ice is akin to scattering trash while visiting. At the end of the ice fishing season, water bodies often turn into dumps for all kinds of waste: from sunflower seed husks and cigarette butts to various plastic, tin, and glass containers. All this debris, as the ice melts, sinks to the bottom of the water bodies every spring, accumulating there for years.

Anglers must understand the consequences of their actions or inaction. And, in accordance with the Rules for conducting fishing and fisheries management, they are obliged to maintain the proper sanitary condition of fishing grounds, and prevent their littering and pollution.

For this violation, administrative responsibility is provided for under Article 16.44, Part 3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus, with a fine of up to thirty basic units, for an individual entrepreneur – up to one hundred basic units, and for a legal entity – up to one thousand basic units.

The amount, you must agree, is not small. Therefore, it is better to collect everything you need and don't need after a pleasant time on the ice and take it home.
