February 18 – World Battery Day!

Small and efficient energy sources, but a great danger to the environment if disposed of in regular trash – that's batteries!

Fortunately, more and more residents of our country are choosing to hand them in for recycling. Especially since it's so simple! Belarus has already installed over 3.3 thousand containers for used power sources: in stores, administrative buildings, and other public places.

In 2024, Belarusian residents sent over 212 tons of batteries for recycling. And in 2025 – over 250 tons! That's about ~10 million AA alkaline batteries! Just imagine the harm they would cause if they ended up in a landfill or, even worse, in a forest or river.

But now they will find a new life! Up to 90% of battery materials can be returned to production: iron, zinc, manganese, graphite. Recycling saves resources and energy.

Give at least one unnecessary battery a "ticket" to recycling today – just drop it in the right container!
