On cooperation with public ecologists of the Vitebsk region

Public ecologists conduct informational and educational work in educational institutions and work collectives on the state of the environment and measures taken for its improvement, protection of flora and fauna, tidying up the land, and identifying cases of violation of environmental legislation.

Public ecologists are active participants in the campaigns "Mobility Week", "Car-Free Day", "Unified Greening Day", "Plant a Tree", "Clean Forest", "Clean Water Body", "Let's Make Holes - Save Fish from Freezing!" and competitions for the best public ecologist, the best publication on environmental topics. Public ecologists, together with inspections, actively participate in preventive measures to comply with the regime of economic and other activities in water protection zones and coastal strips, including recreational areas on water bodies, as well as for the prevention of burning dry vegetation, lighting fires in prohibited places and preventing fires in ecosystems, and measures to tidy up the land (clean-up drives, greening of territories).

With the involvement of public ecologists, 353 events were held in 2025, including 218 raids to check compliance with environmental legislation. Based on reports from public ecologists, 74 and 163 violations of environmental legislation were identified with the participation of public ecologists, and the guilty parties were brought to administrative responsibility.

In the Rossony district, based on information from a public ecologist, locations of illegal waste disposal were discovered in the territory of several forestry units.
