Training for protected areas staff on working with social media for the promotion of ecotourism
From February 23 to 25, 2026, a training session will be held in Minsk for заказники (nature reserves) on working with social media to promote ecotourism.
Over three days, representatives from 8 Belarusian заказники ("Ozyory", "Osvyeysky", "Krasny Bor", "Sinsha", "Naliboksky", "Pribuzhskoye Polesye", "Zvanets", and "Kottra") will enhance their knowledge and practical skills in areas such as:
- managing social media for заказники, including creating and maintaining profiles/business accounts on social networks, creating and publishing text, photo, and video content, methods for attracting subscribers, etc.;
- setting up and launching targeted advertising;
- using artificial intelligence for ecotourism promotion purposes;
- developing news hooks for PR;
- working with media and bloggers;
- organizing press tours;
- interacting with businesses.
The knowledge and practical experience gained during the training will significantly increase the number of tourists, make заказники more recognizable and attractive to the general public, and will also contribute to the development of sustainable and environmentally responsible tourism.
The training is conducted within the framework of the international technical assistance project "Development of Ecotourism to Promote Green Transition towards Inclusive and Sustainable Growth," which is being implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in partnership with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus with financial support from the Russian Federation.
