At the meeting of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives on Ecology and Nature Management, the draft Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Amendments to Laws on Subsoil Use" was considered.

On February 23, a meeting of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives on Ecology and Nature Management was held to consider the draft Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Amendments to Laws on Subsoil Use".

The meeting considered proposals:

on assigning to the Government the competence to establish the procedure for the placement, development, reclamation and accounting of intra-farm quarries, as well as the preparation and issuance of conclusions on the presence of a explored mineral deposit within the boundaries of a land plot;

on defining the term "absence of a subsoil user", as well as establishing the procedure for involving legal entities by local executive and administrative bodies to carry out the conservation and liquidation of mining enterprises, mining workings, and underground structures;

on establishing basic criteria for selecting legal entities by local executive and administrative bodies when conducting tenders for the provision of a mining allotment;

on assessing the feasibility of issuing a permit from the State Industrial Supervision Authority for drilling wells for the extraction and exploration of groundwater from a depth of more than 20 meters.

Following the discussions, a consensus position was developed on all points of the proposals.
