On the procedure for transferring worn-out car tires for disposal

How to dispose of worn-out tires? This is the main question that arises for many car enthusiasts when replacing them.

According to current legislation, the use of tires by individuals for decorating yards (flower beds, fences, sculptures, etc.) is prohibited.

All worn-out tires are subject to collection and placement in designated areas, with transfer to specialized procurement organizations, followed by transfer to waste utilization (recycling) facilities.

Car enthusiasts should consider that car tire rubber can negatively affect the environment, as it contains carcinogenic substances that can enter the soil, groundwater, and water bodies.

In accordance with the requirements of TKP 17.11-08-2024 (33040/33140) "Environmental Protection and Nature Management. Technical requirements for handling municipal waste," worn-out tires are subject to collection, namely:

at separate collection centers for municipal consumer waste;

at car service stations (hereinafter referred to as SS) and other auto service organizations providing tire fitting, tire repair, and vehicle maintenance services;

in garage cooperatives;

at collection (procurement) points.

At the same time, the acceptance of worn-out tires generated by individuals (the population) is carried out, for example:

• procurement point of OJSC "Vitebskobleresursy"

• procurement points of UP "Biomekhzavod of household secondary resources"

• collection point of UP "Housing and Communal Services of Gluboksky District"

• collection point of UP "Housing and Communal Services of Liozno District"

• collection point of UP "Housing and Communal Services of Postavy District"

Thus, there are options for disposing of worn-out tires: they can be taken to car service stations, auto service organizations, organized places for temporary tire storage in garage cooperatives (only for cooperative members), placed on container sites equipped with separate compartments for collecting worn-out tires, or taken to collection (reception) points.
