The Rossony District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection reminds

The Rossonsky District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection reminds that Sosnowsky's hogweed is an aggressive, alien invasive plant that causes significant economic damage and negatively affects the health of citizens and the environment.

When starting to combat hogweed, it is necessary to remember that the plant reproduces only by seeds, without giving root shoots, therefore the first herbicide treatment should be carried out at the beginning of regrowth, when the first leaf rosette is formed, and the second – before flowering.

Failure by land users to take measures to regulate the spread and numbers of invasive plant species is a violation of environmental legislation and entails administrative liability in accordance with Article 24.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus.
