On the prohibition of waste disposal outside authorized locations

Unauthorized waste disposal is one of the frequently identified violations of environmental legislation.

Waste disposed of in forest areas, on roadsides, in ravines, within populated areas, in water protection zones and coastal strips of water bodies becomes a source of air, soil, and groundwater pollution.

The Vitebsk Regional Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection draws attention to the fact that unauthorized waste disposal is subject to administrative liability in accordance with Part 3 of Article 16.44 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus. Fines are imposed for violating waste management rules: up to 30 base units for individuals, up to 100 base units for individual entrepreneurs, and up to 1000 base units for legal entities.

Pollution of the environment with waste is an act of causing harm to the environment. The amount of damage caused depends on the area of polluted land or the mass of waste disposed of in the environment.

Land users must protect their land from pollution (littering) with waste within the boundaries of the land plots allocated to them (in their possession).

The Vitebsk Regional Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection urges citizens and legal entities to show conscientiousness and civic responsibility, and to prevent unauthorized waste disposal in the environment.
