Environmental Tourism Development Activities in 2025

A set of measures for the development of ecological tourism and tourist infrastructure in specially protected natural areas in the region is being implemented by 7 state environmental protection institutions (hereinafter referred to as SEPI) in Verkhnedvinsk, Braslav, Glubokskoye, Gorodok, Miory, Rossony, and Shumilino districts, which manage republican significance заказники (environmental protection and monitoring, environmental education, provision of tourist services). The SEPI have visitor centers, tourist equipment, visual aids, and advertising and information products.

As part of long-term cooperation, joint work with the Russian Federation on the development of the transboundary specially protected natural territory "Zapovednoye Poozerye" has continued. In 2025, a joint international historical and patriotic route "Nature of Memory – Memory of Nature" was developed and opened, running through the territory of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus and dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. The route passes through the territories of the republican landscape заказники "Krasny Bor" and "Osvyeysky" (Republic of Belarus), and the "Sebezhsky" National Park (Russian Federation).

In 2025, the SEPI "Osvyeysky" created and opened the ecological and local history trail "Mysterious Island DU". Through the funds of the international technical assistance project "Development of Ecological Tourism to Promote Green Transition to Inclusive and Sustainable Growth" (hereinafter referred to as the project), work on the construction and equipping of a glamping site (3 glamps were installed and equipped) has been completed.

In the SEPI "EKO-ROSY", the ecological trail "Journey into Nature without Barriers" was created and equipped using funds from the international technical assistance project "Development of Ecological Tourism to Promote Green Transition to Inclusive and Sustainable Growth".

The "Braslav Richi" State Nature Reserve has modernized the green route along Lake Richi, which includes a wooden boardwalk, a rest area (gazebo) on the route, and a temporary solid waste storage site equipped in accordance with construction codes and regulations.

The "Korytinsky Mokh" State Nature Reserve, in cooperation with the "Kozyansky" State Nature Reserve, has created a tourist route (rafting) called "The Way to the Daugava" along the Obel River, which flows along the border and near the "Surmino" and "Yanovo" заказникs in the Gorodok district and the "Kozyansky" заказник in the Shumilino district.

The "EKO-ROSY" State Nature Reserve, in cooperation with the "Osveisky" State Nature Reserve, has developed a weekend tour program called "A Family Weekend". The tour includes visits to three republican significance заказникs: "Sinsha", "Krasny Bor", "Osveisky", two excursions along the ecological trails "Mysterious Island of Du", "Barrier-Free Journey into Nature", and an excursion with a theatrical performance at the "Museum of Partisan Life" in Rovnoye Pole.

Several options for 1-2 day tours are planned, including visits to cultural and historical sites and safari tours "Osveisky" – "Krasny Bor".
