In the Rossony district, work was carried out to identify, coordinate, and make a decision on transferring identified typical and rare biotopes under protection.

By the decision of the Rossony District Executive Committee dated February 2, 2026, No. 56, the state forestry institution "Rossony Leskhoz" was entrusted with the protection of 16 identified typical and rare biotopes:

"Raised bogs"

"Dystrophic lakes"

"Eutrophic lakes"

"Oligomesotrophic lakes"

"Deciduous forests on excessively moist soils and lowland bogs"

"Coniferous forests on raised bogs, birch forests on transitional bogs" with a total area of approximately 2000 hectares.

Based on the decision of the district executive committee, a special regime of protection and use has been established in the territories transferred for protection. As a rule, there are strict restrictions and prohibitions on the use of the territories of the specified biotopes.
