The Rossony Inspection reminds about the inadmissibility of using invasive plants in landscaping

The Rossonsky District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection reminds legal entities and citizens of the inadmissibility of using invasive plant species, prohibited for introduction and acclimatization, in the landscaping of parks, public gardens, road reservations, and adjacent territories.

Invasive plants are plants located outside their natural range, the spread and abundance of which pose a threat to the life or health of citizens, the preservation of biological diversity, and cause harm to certain sectors of the economy.

The list of plants prohibited for introduction and (or) acclimatization is approved by the Resolution of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection dated November 28, 2008, No. 106.

Several plant species are prohibited, including woody plants (ash-leaved maple, black locust) and herbaceous plants (Sosnowski's hogweed, Mantegazzi's hogweed, Canada goldenrod, giant goldenrod, hemp, opium poppy, wild cucumber).

In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Belarus dated June 14, 2003, No. 205-Z "On the Plant World," users of land plots or water bodies in the area of dealing with plant world objects are obliged to carry out work to regulate the spread and abundance of invasive plants.
