March 21 Republican Landscape Reserve

On March 21, the Republican Landscape Reserve "Sinsha" celebrates its 30th anniversary.

The territory features 24 lakes and two rivers. A distinctive characteristic is the numerous lake basins, forming two parallel bands stretching from northwest to southeast. Most of the lakes can be navigated by boat without disembarking. They are interconnected by channels and streams. The famous water route "Blue Necklace of Rossonshchina" allows you to traverse a chain of lakes without crossing land. The waterway through the lake system leads to the Drissa River, which is a right tributary of the Western Dvina.

The reserve boasts its own botanical treasures. If you wish to see relics of the glacial period, here you will find the water chestnut (chilim) – its horned fruits can be found in shallow waters.

Research conducted by the Institute of Experimental Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has confirmed that the reserve has minimal levels of heavy metals in the soil and pine needles.

Nine eco-trails have been developed for visitors to the reserve.
