Geological natural monuments of local significance of the Vitebsk region

Geological natural monuments are rare landforms, mineralogical, paleontological, and other unique geological objects preserved in their natural environment.

As of January 1, 2026, 144 geological natural monuments of local significance have been placed under protection in the Vitebsk region.

A regime for the protection and use of geological natural monuments has been established.

Within their boundaries, the following are prohibited:

work that disturbs the natural state of the soil (except for research work),

blasting and other operations that could disrupt the integrity of natural complexes, removal, relocation, painting, or damage to boulders and other geological objects (except for sample collection for scientific purposes).
