What is important to remember about the requirements for container sites for the collection of municipal waste

In accordance with TКП 17.11-08-2024 "Environmental Protection and Nature Management. Technical Requirements for Municipal Waste Management", container sites for the collection of municipal waste must meet the following requirements:

have a solid waterproof surface;

have access for vehicles engaged in the removal of municipal waste;

have fencing on three or four sides to a height above the municipal waste containers, but not less than 1.5 m, made of functional and aesthetic material providing wind protection. When fenced on four sides, the sites must ensure unimpeded rolling out of containers.

Fencing may not be required when installing recessed containers and/or installing closed containers with a "lid-in-lid" design on the site.

the dimensions of the container sites must be sufficient for the placement of municipal waste collection containers. The required number of municipal waste collection containers installed on the container site is determined by the municipal waste generation rate, collection frequency, and number of residents;

be kept clean.

Container sites may be equipped with a canopy.

It is prohibited to store municipal waste on the territory adjacent to the container site.

Containers for the collection of secondary raw materials are not allowed to be placed outside the designated container sites, except for recessed containers and/or the installation of closed containers for the collection of secondary raw materials placed on a solid waterproof surface.

Containers for the collection of secondary raw materials installed outside the designated container sites must be replaced with containers with a "lid-in-lid" design upon completion of their service life.
