Memory brought to life on screen

On April 16, the premiere screening of the national film "Chernobyl. Living Land" begins in Belarus.

The creation of the film by the national film studio "Belarusfilm" is timed to the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident, one of the largest man-made disasters in human history.

We will see how the land, which has endured the ordeal, continues to live 40 years after one of the most terrible man-made disasters in history.

The story of Chernobyl is a shared memory, uniting both those who remember the events of 1986 and the youth who are building the country's future today.

Eyewitnesses of those events – rescuers, medics, scientists, workers of industrial and agricultural enterprises – will tell the audience the heroic story of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident cleanup and the path to the revival of life in the affected regions of Belarus. In the 39-minute film, the authors will present fragments of the nationwide effort to overcome the consequences of the accident and revive the Belarusian lands.

The premiere of the film "Chernobyl. Living Land" will take place on April 16.
