A resolution has been signed, adjusting the current procedure for handling production waste

Prime Minister Alexander Turchinov signed a decree adjusting the current procedure for handling production waste. The document amends the Council of Ministers Decree No. 818 of November 28, 2019.

The decree entered into force on April 19, 2026.

The new document has been developed considering law enforcement practice and provides a number of significant relaxations and clarifications for business entities.

Key innovations:

Enterprises will be able to obtain permits for waste storage or disposal if they have their own processing or neutralization facilities.

Permits for storage and disposal can be revoked at the initiative of the applicant.

The period for making amendments to an already issued permit has been extended from 30 to 60 days.

The timelines for administrative procedures have been clarified. The method of submitting documents when handing them in on paper has been specified.

When registering commissioned facilities for waste utilization or neutralization, it is no longer required to attach a copy of the technological regulations, provided that the applicant already has a license for activities affecting the environment.

PLEASE NOTE: The forms for submitting documents to the registers of waste utilization, storage, disposal, and neutralization facilities have been changed.
