In the Republic of Belarus, combating Sosnowski's hogweed is not just a recommendation but a legally enshrined obligation for land users. Hogweed is classified as an invasive plant species that harms the environment and human health.

What is considered a violation?

A violation is the presence of hogweed on a land plot owned, used, or held under perpetual inherited possession. This includes:

Failure to take measures to remove hogweed.

Allowing the plant to spread to neighboring plots and common areas.

Ignoring the requirements of local authorities (executive committees) and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection to clear the territory.

The Rossony District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection monitors land users' compliance with regulations on invasive plant species and reminds that in case of failure to take measures for their eradication, land plot users may be held administratively liable.
