Rules for landscaping adjacent territories: procedure for planting trees near apartment buildings.

Many residents of apartment buildings strive to transform their yard spaces into cozy green areas. To create comfortable conditions for recreation and comply with legal requirements, it is necessary to observe a number of rules for planting trees and shrubs in the courtyards of apartment buildings. In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Belarus of June 14, 2003 No. 205-Z "On the Plant World," the planting of trees and shrubs by citizens on common lands and the adjacent territory of apartment buildings is carried out by landscaping professionals, housing maintenance organizations, homeowners' associations, and developer organizations, provided that the rules for designing and constructing landscaping are observed. ✅ For planting, it is recommended to choose species approved by local authorities and always coordinate your actions with the managing organization or executive committee to avoid violating the law. In the courtyards of apartment buildings in the Republic of Belarus, it is prohibited to plant certain types of trees and to violate established planting norms. ‼️ It is strongly discouraged to plant invasive tree species that can threaten local flora and fauna: Box elder, Northern red oak, Black locust, Canadian poplar ❗️ It is not recommended to plant trees with aggressive root systems, whose roots can damage utilities or foundations: Poplar, Willow, Birch, Maple (certain species) ❗️ It is not recommended to plant trees that cause allergies and litter the territory, for example, poplars and other species that cause allergies during flowering and litter the yard with seeds. ❌ It is prohibited to plant trees in violation of sanitary and construction norms: - within 5 meters of building walls; - over underground utilities (gas, water supply, sewage, heating mains); - within 1.5 meters of sidewalks and paths. ⚖️ Unauthorized planting of trees without coordination with the housing and communal services and local authorities is considered a violation of landscaping rules and may result in a fine of up to 25 base units for individuals.
