At a unified information day on the topic "Trends and New Directions in the Development of Tourism in Belarus," Egor Giz, Head of the Department for the Development of Domestic Tourism and Quality of Services at the State Institution "National Tourism Agency," highlighted 6 key vectors of the industry. ➡️Industrial Tourism Over 130 enterprises are open to visitors. By 2025, the projected number of excursionists is 267.2 thousand. This type of tourism is in demand among both Belarusians and citizens of other countries. ➡️Agritourism One of the most widespread types in terms of tourism entities. Leaders include the Minsk region (419 facilities), and the Brest and Grodno regions (around 280 each). People are drawn by the tranquility, nature, and local way of life. ➡️Health and Wellness Tourism There are 285 sanatorium-resort organizations with 60.4 thousand beds. Almost a quarter of guests are foreigners. However, the Belarusian tourist is the primary consumer. Our Belarusian health and wellness tourism is a key and highly profitable tourism brand. ➡️Event Tourism Over 250 major event activities are planned for the summer of 2026 alone. The National Tourism Agency invites participation in the "Naliboki Trails" race. ➡️Digital Transformation The priority of the State Program 2026–2030 is a unified digital tourism platform and the GIS "Tourism." The entire travel route in one window. ➡️New Functions of Tourist Information Centers (TICs) Since January 5, 2026, tourist information centers have been granted expanded powers: now 68 TICs can engage in tour operator activities, creating a complete tourism product for inbound tourism. Egor Giz noted: Tourism in Belarus is no longer solely domestic. We are growing in industrial, event, and digital directions. And most importantly, the industry is becoming a driver for the regions.
