New Red Book of Belarus: 523 species under protection

The National Academy of Sciences conducted full-scale monitoring studies and examined in detail the state of populations of individual species. ✅ In March 2025, new lists for inclusion in the Red Book were approved: ➡️ 213 species of wild animals ➡️ 310 species of wild plants ➡️ A total of 523 species Plans for the conservation of rare species To date, the following are being implemented in Belarus: ✅ 30 action plans for the conservation of rare plants ✅ 16 action plans for the conservation of rare animals ✅ 5 population management plans The rate of habitat degradation for rare and endangered species is decreasing. To this end, habitats and growing sites of such species are being placed under protection, and restoration measures are being carried out.
