On the procedure for processing polymer waste

Following the results of 2025, 157.5 thousand tons of polymer waste were collected for recycling in Belarus, which is 35% more than in 2024. For comparison: in 2024, 116.5 thousand tons of polymer waste were collected in the country, of which 15.8 thousand tons were from the Vitebsk region, with a total volume of generated solid municipal waste of 448.8 thousand tons. Polymer waste belongs to third-class hazardous waste, and its recycling is a licensed activity. In total, more than 170 licensed enterprises are registered in Belarus engaged in the processing of polymer (plastic) waste, and in the Vitebsk region – 18 licensees. Currently, secondary plastic is used to produce: ✔️ new packaging (containers) ✔️ household and garden goods ✔️ building materials, pipes, and manhole covers ✔️ furniture fittings, etc. ⚡️By handing over plastic to collection points or disposing of it in special containers, each of us contributes to nature conservation!?
