The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus is systematically strengthening control over compliance with legislative requirements in mineral resource extraction.

The main objective of these measures is not only to record violations but also to provide methodological assistance for the timely identification of risks before negative consequences occur.

The focus of the ministry's control activities is on key parameters of quarry development, namely:

– compliance with quarry boundaries;

– compliance with the designed development depth;

– presence of information signs;

– presence of barriers on access roads;

– proper placement and storage of topsoil;

– presence and adherence to the approved annual plan for mining operations.

To enhance the accuracy and objectivity of control, modern technological solutions are actively being implemented, such as:

– Earth remote sensing data;

– information and analytical systems;

– satellite GNSS receivers.

To prevent potential violations, we recommend that subsoil users:

– regularly conduct internal audits of their subsoil use sites based on the specified parameters;

– ensure timely maintenance and availability of all necessary documentation.

This will help minimize risks and ensure the sustainable and lawful operation of deposits.
