IMPORTANT: NEW EDITION OF THE WATER CODE

According to the current edition of the Water Code of the Republic of Belarus:

In the case of water use related to the abstraction of surface waters by mobile devices for watering and cleaning operations on facilities located on public lands of settlements, as well as for irrigation of agricultural lands, obtaining a permit for special water use is not required (Article 30 of the Water Code of the Republic of Belarus).

PLEASE NOTE!

From January 1, 2027, a new edition of the Water Code of the Republic of Belarus will come into force

(Law of the Republic of Belarus of 01.06.2026 No. 148-Z).

According to the new edition:

In the case of abstraction of surface waters in a volume exceeding 5 cubic meters per day using water intake structures (stationary, mobile, floating), including for:

• watering and cleaning operations;

• land reclamation of agricultural lands;

• watering of plants,

it is necessary to obtain a permit for special water use (Article 31 of the new edition of the Water Code of the Republic of Belarus).
