October 21 - Father's Day

Father's Day was first celebrated in Belarus on October 21, 2022. The date of October 21 was chosen for the celebration of Father's Day, as Belarus has a long-standing tradition of celebrating Mother's Day on October 14, and now there will be an opportunity to hold a parental week from October 14 to October 21.

Nowadays, more and more men are actively involved in the lives of their children from the very first days. And, of course, there is now a special day in the year to congratulate fathers and thank them for all that they have done and continue to do for their children.

The implementation of relevant events during this period will contribute to the further preservation of traditional family values, enhance the significance of the state's family policy and the role of the father in public consciousness.

The work of healthcare organizations aimed at improving family planning services and creating a multi-level system for protecting male reproductive health is carried out within the framework of the National Model of Reproductive Health and Family Planning in the Republic of Belarus for 2021-2025 and the Action Plan for its implementation, subprogram 1 "Family and Childhood" of the State Program "People's Health and Demographic Security" for 2021-2025, and Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of December 30, 2020 No. 793 "On the National Action Plan for Gender Equality in the Republic of Belarus for 2021-2025".

In the Republic of Belarus, a male health service is developing for early diagnosis, medical examination, and treatment of diseases leading to infertility; family planning counseling is organized; conditions have been created for the early detection of pathologies leading to infertility, and for the examination and treatment of infertile couples. The implementation of effective medical technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of reproductive function disorders in women and men is underway, using organ-preserving (minimally invasive) technologies for the preservation and restoration of reproductive function.

In the Republic of Belarus, a multi-level male reproductive health protection service has been formed and is functioning: multidisciplinary reproductive health medical centers have been opened, specializing in the restoration of female and male reproductive health and overcoming all types of infertility.

The number of medical centers providing infertility treatment using assisted reproductive technologies is constantly increasing. In the Family Planning Department and the Assisted Technologies Department of the RSPC "Mother and Child" work specialist doctors providing medical care to men with reproductive health issues.

In the healthcare institution "Minsk Clinical Advisory and Diagnostic Center," the "Center for Men's Health" has been established and is successfully operating. On the basis of the healthcare institution "Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital," the Republican Center of Andrology operates, providing care for patients with andrological profiles from all over the country. The Republican Andrological Advisory Service and the Andrology Department operate on the basis of the Department of Urology and Nephrology of the Educational Institution "Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education."
