Rules of conduct in hot weather
1. On hot days, wear light, loose-fitting clothing made of natural fabrics, be sure to wear light headwear and carry a bottle of water. On days with high air temperatures (above 28 C), avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary, especially during peak solar activity (from 11 am to 5 pm).
2. To protect the body from dehydration, drink more – at least 1.5 – 3 liters per day. It is best to consume the main volume (up to two liters of liquid in various forms) in the morning or evening hours so that the body can store moisture. It is not recommended to consume alcohol (including beer) and carbonated drinks, which not only do not quench thirst but also slow down metabolic processes in the body. Pay attention to the fact that the water should not be cold, as in hot weather the risk of developing tonsillitis and ARZ increases.
3. In hot weather, exclude fatty, fried, and sweet foods from your diet. The menu should include light food – vegetables, fruits, boiled or stewed fish, chicken, cold soups, and okroshka. Remember the rules of sanitary hygiene – thoroughly wash vegetables and fruits with running water, and be sure to boil meat and fish.
4. If you use an air conditioner for cooling, remember that the air temperature should not be lower than 23-25 degrees Celsius. It is better to stay away from this household appliance: even a weak cool breeze can cause a runny nose and colds. No air conditioner? Damp sheets hung on open windows will help.
5. A room-temperature shower will save you from stuffiness; take it as many times a day as you wish. Whenever possible, wipe your hands with a damp cloth along their entire length, up to your armpits.
6. People suffering from chronic diseases (especially cardiovascular diseases, oncological diseases, respiratory diseases, diabetes) must continue to take the medications recommended by their attending physician and always have the medications with them.
