April 16, 2026 – International Voice Day

April 16, 2026, marks the International Day of Voice, aimed at raising awareness about vocal health and the importance of voice as a means of communication.

The idea of celebrating this day originated in 1999 in Brazil. The American Academy of Otolaryngology initiated the establishment of this international holiday. Over time, this celebration became international.

The holiday is dedicated to the prevention of voice disorders, diagnosis of impairments, and the importance of vocal cord health. On this day, open houses, lectures, discussions, and consultations with otolaryngologists, phoniatrists, pediatricians, and general practitioners are held in medical and educational institutions.

World Voice Day is important not only for singers and artists but for everyone whose voice is their primary communication tool.

Specialists remind us of the need for vocal health prevention. First and foremost, it is necessary to adhere to simple (basic) rules of a healthy lifestyle. Among the main causes of voice problems are bad habits (primarily smoking), as well as neglecting the prevention of colds and stressful situations. Among the most interesting and unusual methods of realizing the importance of voice in everyday life is the method proposed by British specialists and called the "Hour of Silence," where during daily activities or work, it is suggested to refrain from using one's voice for an hour and try to resolve all issues, tasks, and problems that arise during this time without its use.

Take care of your voice and seek professional help promptly in case of throat diseases and voice loss!
