June 1 – International Children's Day

June 1 is International Children's Day. This holiday is traditionally celebrated in many countries around the world, including Belarus.

The holiday was established in 1949 by a decision of the Women's International Democratic Federation and was first celebrated in 1950.

Its main goal is to draw society's attention to the protection of the rights, health, and well-being of the younger generation.

The holiday has its own official flag – a green canvas with the planet Earth in the center, surrounded by five stylized children's figures of different colors (red, blue, yellow, black, and white).

On this day, entertainment programs are held throughout the country: concerts, competitions, exhibitions, and master classes, thematic events, sports competitions, and medical consultations for children and parents are organized. Charity drives and campaigns are held in support of orphans and children in difficult life situations.

In the urban-type settlement of Rossony
