The special preventive event of the Ministry of Emergency Situations "House without fire" has concluded in the Rossony district.
The special preventive event of the Ministry of Emergency Situations "House without Fire", aimed at reducing the risks of fires in housing and deaths from them, and increasing the life safety culture among the population, has been completed. It was held in the Rossony district from March 8 to 12.
For large-scale fire prevention work, colleagues from the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Polotsk and Novopolotsk Emergency Situations Departments joined the Rossony rescuers. Representatives of the republican state-public association "Belarusian Voluntary Fire Society" also took part, providing citizens with autonomous fire detectors free of charge and installing them.
The fire prevention work covered the urban settlement of Rossony, as well as the Krasnopolsky, Sokoliščensky, and Jankovichsky rural councils. It is in these territories that a significant number of citizen deaths have been observed in the last three years.
In addition to the work aimed at studying fire safety in housing, rescuers organized a large-scale propaganda campaign, during which they actively informed students of educational institutions, representatives of labor collectives of institutions and organizations of the district, visitors to retail outlets, and residents of rural settlements about the importance of complying with fire safety requirements.
In total, during the special preventive event "House without Fire", more than 700 people were instructed, and 560 houses and apartments of citizens were inspected by the Ministry of Emergency Situations. As part of the work carried out, violations of fire safety rules were identified in more than 230 households. 341 owners were recommended to install autonomous fire detectors.
Over the five days of the special preventive event, more than 70 employees of the emergency services and subdivisions of the Vitebsk region, as well as 56 representatives of other preventive entities, were involved in the preventive work.
