The republican campaign "For Safety Together" starts on March 22

One of the main causes of fires remains the disregard of fire safety rules by citizens due to inattention or ignorance, but the outcome is the same.

In order to reduce the risks of people dying from external causes, including fires, due to citizens' non-compliance with life safety principles and fire safety rules, as well as to increase public awareness of the capabilities of state organizations in providing services (assistance) in the field of fire safety, strengthening law and order, and preventing offenses committed by citizens in a state of alcoholic intoxication, from March 22 to March 30, 2025, the republican campaign "For Safety Together" will be held in the Vitebsk region.

Representatives of the internal affairs bodies, labor and social protection, education, media, housing and communal services, healthcare, and energy, as well as the Belarusian Voluntary Fire Society, will take part in the preventive measures.

Traditionally, first and foremost, the prevention entities will pay attention to families with children in a socially dangerous situation, lonely and single elderly citizens, disabled people, citizens using their homes for drinking alcoholic beverages, individuals leading an antisocial lifestyle, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and other socially vulnerable categories of citizens.

IMPORTANT: As part of the campaign, anyone can contact the territorial bodies and units for emergency situations to inspect the fire safety condition of their home.

Since the beginning of the year, 225 fires have been recorded in the Vitebsk region, which is 18 more cases than last year. 24 people died in fires (+10 cases) compared to the same period last year.
