On June 1, the information and propaganda campaign "Safe Holidays" will start in the republic.

From June 1 to August 31, the republican information and propaganda campaign "Safe Holidays" will be held in all regions of the country.

The campaign has become traditional and is conducted to draw public attention to the problem of children's mischief with fire, prevent fires and child fatalities from them, reduce the number of emergencies involving children, and ensure their overall safety both at home and outdoors.

For reference: In 2025, three children died in fires. The tragedies occurred in the Luninetsky and Kamenetsky districts of the Brest region. Due to children's mischief with fire, 23 fires occurred. Tragic incidents also occurred at water bodies: this year, 2 children drowned.

In 2024, 10 children died in fires. 91 fires were registered due to children's mischief with fire. Last year, 19 children drowned in water bodies.

The campaign will kick off with large-scale events dedicated to International Children's Day: in open areas of amusement and recreation parks, near palaces of culture, cinemas, shopping and entertainment centers, etc. – everywhere parents with children frequent – employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will conduct bright and interesting activities. Interactive games, quizzes and active contests, demonstration of emergency rescue equipment and vehicles, demonstration performances by MES units, distribution of souvenirs and educational visual materials, a concert program, creative performances, mascot costumes – this is not an exhaustive list of what rescuers have prepared for children and their parents.

In the following days, MES employees, along with activists of the Belarusian Youth Public Association of Rescuers-Firefighters, representatives of the ОСВОД (Belarusian Voluntary Society for the Rescue of People on Water), and the Belarusian Voluntary Fire Society, will visit school and suburban health camps, and preschool institutions. They will remind children of important safety rules to be observed at home and outdoors, and explain how to avoid becoming victims of seasonal dangers and how to act in case of trouble.

To ensure that the shifts are not only fun but also beneficial, EMERCOM propaganda workers have prepared a whole host of creative and educational activities for the children: various fire safety quizzes, master classes, games, contests, and quizzes that will help teach children how to live safely in an accessible way. Rescuers will place an important emphasis on teaching water safety rules and swimming skills. "EMERCOM Day," "EMERCOM-LAND," the game "School of Young Rescuers," themed theatrical performances, quizzes, online safety quizzes, master classes, excursions to safety centers, museums, and fire and rescue stations – all this and much more has been prepared by EMERCOM employees for the children. These events will allow children to demonstrate their erudition and ingenuity, reveal their creative potential, test their strength and endurance, and most importantly, learn, review, and reinforce vital safety rules. Thematic videos and cartoons from EMERCOM will also be shown, and participants will receive visual educational materials.

Dear parents, do not forget that you must take care of your children's safety: create safe living conditions, never leave young children unattended even for a short time, discuss dangerous situations and their consequences with your children.
