From June 17 to 22, the Ministry of Emergency Situations will hold a special preventive event "House without fire" in the Rossony district.

"House Without Fire" is the name of a special preventive event to be held by the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Rossony district from June 17 to 22.

Its goal is to reduce the risks of fires in housing stock and fatalities from them, and to improve the life safety culture among the population.

In the Rossony district, 10 fires occurred in the elapsed period of 2025, which is five more cases than in the same period last year; two people died in fires.

A tragedy that claimed the lives of two men at once occurred on February 26 in the agro-town of Krasnopolye. Unemployed men: the owner of a private house and his acquaintance became victims of their own carelessness – negligence while smoking; both men were intoxicated.

Over the past three years, 33 fires have occurred in the Rossony district, resulting in 8 deaths. The majority of fires, 16 cases and 6 fatalities, occurred in rural areas and were recorded in the Krasnopolye, Sokolishensky, and Yankovichsky rural Soviets. Slightly fewer – 10 fires and two fatalities – occurred in the urban settlement of Rossony. This is precisely why the special preventive event will take place in the settlements of these rural Soviets and in the urban settlement itself.

Since the beginning of the year, the Vitebsk region has recorded an increase in fires by fifty cases (395 in 2024, 445 in 2025). 39 people died in fires – this is 6 cases (+18.2%) more than in 2024.

Households of categorized citizens will be visited: single and lonely elderly people, disabled people and large families, families where children are in a socially dangerous situation, as well as households of citizens leading an antisocial lifestyle.

Among the main tasks of the special preventive event, rescuers highlight: informing the public about the state of fire safety, explaining to citizens the consequences of non-compliance with fire safety rules, and studying the state of fire safety of housing stock objects.
