A child died in a fire in the Volkovysk district

On May 25, at 21:53, the duty service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Volkovysk district received a report that a private residential house was on fire in the village of Konyukhi, Novaya Street. Rescue units were immediately dispatched to the specified address.

Upon arrival at the scene, rescuers established that the roof of the wooden structure was completely engulfed in flames, and it had partially collapsed.

It was found that a family with a child born in 2008 lived in the house. At the time of the fire, only the child was in the dwelling; the parents had gone to the store.

During the firefighting and reconnaissance operations, EMERCOM employees discovered the deceased teenager under the debris of the building structures.

The fire destroyed the roof, ceiling, and property, and damaged the walls.

EMERCOM employees provided psychological assistance to the relatives of the deceased child. The causes of the incident are being established.

Since the beginning of the current year, four children have died in fires in the republic.

To prevent a fire tragedy, you should observe fire safety rules: be extremely careful when handling fire, keep stove heating in good repair, and do not overload the electrical network!

Pay special attention to children's safety. Teach them how to act in an emergency, tell them about the consequences of playing with fire, and do not leave young children unattended. For your personal safety, install autonomous fire alarms in your home. In case of fire, call rescuers at 101 or 112.
