Двух заблудившихся пенсионерок нашли спасатели в Россонском районе

Rescuers found two lost pensioners in the Rossony district

On October 20, at 15:04, rescuers received a report that two elderly women, aged 65 and 69, had gotten lost in the forest near the village of Zaborie.

– We maintained contact with the lost women by phone, – said rescuer Vasily Shperkh. – The women said they were passing by the "broken bridge," which is the name of the place between two lakes known to all local residents.

Rescuers drove to the specified location on a tanker truck along a narrow forest road, intermittently sounding the tanker's signal. After some searching, the women were found in normal condition and did not require medical assistance.

Dear citizens! It is not uncommon for long-awaited forest trips to end quite sadly.

If you do get lost:

- Do not panic.

- Listen carefully: the sound of a tractor can be heard from 3-4 km away, a dog's bark – from 2-3 km away; head towards the sound.

- Look for power lines, clearings, and paths. Walk along them, and you will surely reach people.

- If you encounter a stream or river, follow it downstream – they always lead to people.

- Call the Ministry of Emergency Situations at 101 or 112 and report which settlement and district you entered the forest from, and describe what you see around you. But even if you find yourself in the forest without a phone, calm down and expect a positive outcome.

- If it starts to get dark, orient yourself in the area and think about where to organize overnight accommodation.

- A pit from an uprooted tree is suitable for overnight accommodation. Make a shelter like a hut from branches and a bedding from available materials. A sheet of newspaper tucked under clothing will halve heat loss. The same effect is achieved by stuffing leaves under your clothes.

Following these simple recommendations will help you avoid an extreme situation during your forest walk. Enjoy your rest!
