A fire broke out in a residential building in the village of Nozhnitsy, Krasnopolsky rural council.
On February 29, at 05:34, the operational management center of the Rossony District Department for Emergency Situations received a report of a roof fire at a residential building on Tsvetochnaya Street in the village of Nozhnitsy, Krasnopolsky Rural Council.
Upon arrival of the first emergency response units at the scene, open burning of the house roof was observed.
The owner, born in 1938, his daughter, born in 1963, and the daughter's husband, born in 1958, were at home at the time of the fire and left the building on their own. There were no casualties.
As a result of the fire, the roof, ceiling, walls, and property of the house were damaged.
The considered version of the cause of the fire is violation of the rules for operating stoves, heat-generating units, and devices.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds:
- adherence to simple rules for using stove heating will help prevent a fire. Do not overheat the stove. Before closing the upper damper of the stove, make sure that the firewood in the firebox has completely burned out;
- it is extremely dangerous to use combustible and flammable liquids for ignition;
- a metal sheet must be placed in front of the door, do not heat the stove with the door open;
- cracks in the stove must be sealed, the chimney within the attic must be plastered and whitewashed, renew the protective layer of plaster and whitewash, clean the chimney.
