Two people died in a fire in the Rossony district.

On November 24, at 4:40 PM, Rossony rescuers responded to a report of a house fire on Molodezhnaya Street in the village of Yankovichi, Rossony District.

Upon arrival at the scene, fire was observed inside the house.

The house belonged to a pensioner born in 1954, who lived with his cohabitant, a pensioner born in 1963. According to neighbors, they were characterized negatively and were registered as individuals abusing alcohol. At the time of the fire, both were inside the house.

During the inspection of the premises, Ministry of Emergency Situations employees found the body of a man on the floor in the corridor, and the body of a woman on the floor in the living room, under a mattress in a burnt-out floor area.

As a result of the fire, the wooden partition between the rooms, property, and soot-covered walls and ceiling were damaged in the house.

The cause of the fire is being established. The considered version of the cause of the fire is careless handling of fire while smoking by the owner's cohabitant.
