A house fire occurred in Rossony

On January 20, 2024, at 13:31, the operational control center of the Rossony District Department for Emergency Situations received a report of a residential house fire on Zaslonova Street in Rossony.

Upon arrival of the first emergency response units at the scene, heavy smoke was observed inside the house.

The owner, born in 1971, did not reside in this house; the house was used seasonally as a summer cottage. At the time of the fire, he was outside near the burning house. There were no casualties.

As a result of the fire, the roof, ceiling, walls, and property inside the house were damaged.

The cause of the fire is being determined. The considered version of the cause of the fire is careless handling of fire while smoking by the homeowner.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds:

• Remember that you should not smoke in bed or while sitting in an armchair, especially if you have consumed alcohol – it is very easy to fall asleep in such a position. And if you don't extinguish a cigarette in time, it can set fire to clothes or furniture.
• Do not throw even extinguished cigarettes into bins with papers and other combustible waste, as they can ignite.
• Under no circumstances should you smoke in a garage – the proximity of a car and flammable liquids can provoke a fire.
• To prevent fires in the workplace or residential areas, it is necessary to comply with fire safety regulations!
