In 1968, a Children's Music School was opened in the urban-type settlement of Rossony. With the opening of the art department in 1994, the school acquired the status of a Children's Art School. In 2000, a choreography department was opened.
At the art school, students study in 3 departments: music, art, and choreography.
An exemplary cymbal orchestra has been operating at the Children's Art School since 1999 (head Ermakova Inna Gennadievna). Since 2010, the children's exemplary art studio "Kolorit" has been operating on the basis of the art department (head Kallaur Elena Valentinovna).
