Since 2021, the pilot project "Cornflower Region" has been implemented in the Vitebsk region. Its main goal is the effective use of the region's unique resources to enhance the tourist attractiveness of the Vitebsk region in domestic and foreign markets through the creation of a mobile application.
The idea of the project is to promote the tourist opportunities of the region through cornflowers with QR codes installed at tourist sites. By scanning these QR codes, a person can learn about the site and its history using the mobile application "Cornflower Region - Life". Moreover, no internet connection is required for scanning, which significantly simplifies the use of the application.
The signs are located in places accessible to people with disabilities. The application also includes navigation through cities and district centers of the region, routes, virtual tours, and audio guides to various popular places and attractions in the Vitebsk region.
